I’m going to try to keep up with the 2017 eBird Challenges each month. I’ll keep track on this page. Read all the latest from eBird here: eBird Latest News.

DECEMBER
eBird finally added in-app mobile tracking. The December eBirder of the Month Challenge winner would be drawn from those who submitted at least 15 lists using mobile tracks. I only had two. WOMP WOMP.
NOVEMBER
The November eBirder of the Month Challenge winner would be drawn from those who submitted 3 or more checklists on a day. This was to encourage precise checklisting. I didn’t bird at all in November, OMG. WOMP WOMP WOMP.
OCTOBER
The October eBirder of the Month Challenge winner would be drawn from those who submitted 15 or more eligible checklists containing at least one rated photo or sound. Yikes, that sounds hard to accomplish. I guess you had to find friends / shills to rate your photos for you? Anyway I only had one checklist with a photo, but I think I may have added it to the list after October. And it doesn’t have any ratings. So.
SEPTEMBER
The September eBirder of the Month Challenge was all about lists with Flyover codes. I didn’t look into this month’s challenge at all and had zero lists with flyovers. 🙁
AUGUST
The August eBirder of the Month Challenge was all about volume — submit at least 31 checklists for the month (one per day). This was during our big road trip out west. I submitted over 40 checklists, but only 16 were complete and eligible. While sightseeing I wasn’t completely focused on birding so I couldn’t record my incidentals as complete lists. WOMP WOMP
JULY
The July eBirder of the Month Challenge winner was drawn from those who submitted at least 15 shared checklists in July. Yeah, I bird alone. WOMP WOMP
JUNE
The June eBirder of the Month Challenge winner was drawn from eBirders who submitted at least 15 checklists with at least one breeding code. I only managed four lists with breeding codes. WOMP WOMP
MAY
The May eBirder of the Month Challenge winner was drawn from eBirders who submitted 3 or more eligible checklists on 13 May, which is the Global Big Day. I did it! Lake Woodruff | Trout Lake | home
APRIL
The April eBirder of the Month Challenge winner will be drawn from members that submit at least 15 eligible checklists entered using eBird Mobile. I managed 24 checklists that fit the criteria for this one.
MARCH
The March eBirder of the Month Challenge winner will be drawn from submitted eligible checklists that include one photo or audio file. Each eligible checklist is one entry into the challenge. I managed 9 checklists with photos (species photos indicated in list below).
